Issue 2 raises concerns among Ohio's farmers |
There seems to be confusion regarding Issue 2 in the run-up to the Nov. 3 election. Supporters tout the creation of a Livestock Care Standards Board as a measure to ensure “safe, local food.” But it would appear to have the opposite effect. If passed, the amendment would give broad authority to the board to oversee farms and food. Many farmers are opposed, saying Issue 2 favors the interests of factory farms. Because Raisin Rack supports local growers, a NO vote looks to be prudent.
